Comment:

While online I sometimes receive a message saying Windows has caused a problem with MSHTML.DLL and it closes the browser when I click OK.

I actually ordered the IE6 cd from Microsft and reinstalled IE6. It didn't help.

Sometimes, either right before or after this occurs, my Zone Alarm will ask if I want to allow WININETD.exe to access and I usually click NO. However I have clicked YES in the past. Did I screw up?

Anyway, HELP would be appreciated.

go to this link for the mshtml error.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318153
And go here about the wininetd.exe

better do a virus/trojan scan
do the scan and clean out the trojan first...might fix the other prob , you might hafta repair IE6 again
till then DONT grant it access.
good luck

Thanks Blender. I have Stop Sign as my virus protection and have run it. Sounds like a trojan to me too. Should I look at another virus protection program?

personally I use mcafee which is good prog. If you are looking at a free solution try AVG I hear it is good prog. and has free updates too.
Trend micro's housecall will likely help clean up what u have now.
Also try trojan remover (free for a month)

The link i gave you from symantec should give pretty good info on manual deleting.
I never even heard of stop sign av and i browse the av sites all the time.
anyway good luck
