Reply: always something. I wonder what,if any thing,MS plans to do about these root kits with the next OS release. Does this go for Linux as well?

Reply: The description of the behavior of these rootkits and the documents returned from a "rootkit" search out on Google at least identify what I got!!! This is not just "the next thing," I fear! Untll we can isolate our systems, we are potential bait! I was stupid and picked this thing up when the firewall was off as I was DL'ing SP2! (I suspect a rootkit developer was "sniffing" for somone doing the SP2 update and probably slipped a modified DLL in there! If these people can take this thing to the next level... We are dead -b
