Comment: For those using the Ms Anti-spyware Beta.... " We've gotten lots more reports flowing in of false positives from the MS anti-spyware tool. Please report them to Microsoft so they can fix it. There is one that is worth mentioning - An anonymous donor points out... "If you manually add domains to MSIE's "Restricted Zone" list or "Always Block" cookies list, then beware that Microsoft's new AntiSpyware Beta may flag these as either "High" or "Elevated" security risks, with the default action of "Remove". Don't be fooled. " From here... http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?isc=48df03ea755a05a29266c208dc20ca7c Lesley

Reply: I'm using Giant which I licensed before the MS buyout. From what I've been reading on the net,I'd stay away from the beta for awhile. It's a beta and there have obviously been changes made to the newer program. I haven't experienced any difficulties with the old original Giant. FWIW, JB.

Reply: Personally, my opinion, let Microsoft find their own problems. It`s not like they don`t have enough money to do research before they put out a program. They`re the ones that put out a beta that you can only use on certain os, and ie`s, leaving the rest of us without the requirements without the ability to even try the beta. No problem I`ll just stick with adaware, spybot, spywareblaster, and AVGFree. Microsoft can hang it where the sun don`t shine.

Reply: When something is in Beta testing, it's implied there will be bugs that need to be discovered. You are not forced to download and install this software, but asked to if you'd like to participate in the Beta test. Many times, Beta testing software will cause problems on some people's computers. That's implied and it's a risk you take when deciding to Beta test something. I think people are being caught off guard, though, because it's such a public Beta from such a public company. More than likely, most of the people using the software have probably never Beta tested before.

Reply: I uninstalled the terrible MS antispyware program. Everytime it did a scan, it found nothing. I would do a scan with Adaware or Spybot immediately after, and would find atleast 30 infections. I am not a Microsoft hater, just their spyware "I can't find any spyware on my computer" program. Z
