Subject: MS Access Database Security Question

Comment: Hi, I'm trying to set up my access database so that the administrator can do anything but a user cannot delete records. I got this to work after lots of toying, but now, when I open ANY database on my computer, it prompts me for login info. What's worse, I emailed the database to a friend, and he was able to open it without a password! It seems that the security is only enabled locally on my computer. I set up a workgroup file as I was asked to do, but I'd also like some clarification on what it does. Anyone know anything about security in MS Access? (I'm using ver. 2002) Thanks a lot...

Reply: If you haven't already, look at article Q305542 at Microsoft's web site. Its a good starting point.
