Hi all, I have a problem. I cannot access most web sites. I get "This page cannot be displayed." Even trying to load computing.net would not work without 3 or 4 clicks on the Refresh button. Some sites will load after clicking Refresh several times, some will not. I am using Spywareblaster, Avast, Windows Defender 2, and Spybot. Doing scans with all of them (except Spywareblaster of course) show up as clean as a bell. I couldn't find anything with Hijack This either. I changed internet services from Bellsouth to Clean Internet (both Dial-Up) last week. The problems didn't start until after switching. Clean Internet uses it's own dialer. I havn't cancelled w/ Bellsouth yet, therefore I tried connecting to their servers, and the same problems occur. I share internet from the same PC using a Proxy Server, and the same things happen on all clients. What's wrong here? I'm baffled. Thanks for any help.

I believe in the Big Bang. God said it, and BANG it happened!

I think the problem is worsening. It just happened again, and the IE window that it happened in started causing problems. It's not that the window froze (the buttons still light up when the mouse moves over them), but clicking the buttons don't do anything. Sometimes clicking Go, a message appears saying something like this paraphrase: "The volume or syntax is incomplete or incorrect."

Trying to close the window that was talked about above renders this error:

"The window is busy. Closing the window may cause some problems. Do you want to close it anyway?"

I closed it, and nothing else has happened except the same problems.

I just pulled up clean internet services and it looks like they are heavily filtered and that's probably why you are having those problems. Also, anytime you have to use an ISP's software, there seems to be more problems.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Thanks for the reply. I wondered about that. I did several things last night...

I scanned again with Spybot, and found 2 spyware apps. After I got done with that, I uninstalled the Clean Internet dialer, and used HT to get rid of an extra toolbar button that said 'Block Site'. Now I just use XP's dialer (like I did with Bellsouth).. The computer seems a lot better now. Thanks for the help.

Yes, as far as I can tell. I'm kinda surprised it wasn't the filter with Clean Internet.
