Great. Now they have only 10,000 more indexes to go before they start to get helpful.;0)

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime;
Then industry pollutes the water and kills all the fish.

Today news article is HERE

Partial quote:

When the first version of Microsoft Corp.'s new malicious software removal tool is released on Tuesday, it will be pre-programmed to zap 10 of the most virulent worms and viruses, including Blaster, Sasser, MyDoom and Nachi.

The tool is programmed to scan a PC for infections of known viruses, but it is not intended as a substitute for full anti-virus protection. After a scan is conducted, the Microsoft tool will present color-coded results: a red 'X' for an infected machine or a green checkbox if nothing is detected.

Big deal, I guess.

Taken from their information on this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=891716

"The tool is primarily intended for non-corporate users without an existing, up-to-date antivirus product installed on their systems. However, the tool can also be deployed in an enterprise environment to enhance existing protection and as part of a defense-in-depth strategy."

I think that's interesting for corporate environments. At this point, most corporate environments have anti-virus solutions implemented. I'm not really certain why it would be a good idea to spend time implementing this additional tool.
