Having installed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) recently, I've noticed
a couple of bugs which appear in my XP.

Firstly when I put in the marker to change the text in a particular box in Excel, the program stopped with an error. It was a simple add-subtract spreadsheet with no macro's. This was repeatable even after system reboot. Having excluded the folder in MSE all was fine. I am using ancient Office 2k but can't see why this should matter.

I am one of those odd people who still has a working Floppy (last boot option). This keeps being accessed, with the usual clatter, despite excluding A:\ in MSE. Using Google, I've found at least one other who has had this problem with MSE. I've quietened the drive down a bit by keeping a blank floppy inserted.

The above have led to me being somewhat paranoid, excluding anything in MSE that I don't want it messing up.

My questions are:-

Has anyone else run into either of these (or some other problem I need to know about)?

Is there any easy way to inform MS about these bugs (I'm in the UK)?

some other bloke...
