Hi again. Out of interest can the guys in the know here give their opinion on the Microsoft Antispyware software? Is it going to be a useful tool to cary/install in the fight against spyware.

Many thanks

Darren

So far, MS AntiSpyware has received good reviews in online and print publications. In fact, in one comparison test, it ranked higher than both Spybot and Ad-Aware in detecting spyware.

I can attest that's true. I use Spybot and Ad-Aware (updated) once a week for regular maintenance. The first time I used MS AntiSpyware, it found 3 pieces of spyware the others never did.

To be fair, Spy Sweeper by Webroot performed equally to MS AntiSpyware. But, of course, Spy Sweeper's not free. :)

Same comment here! MS Antispyware is free is is able to detect more spywares according to my opinion! Since it is free, why not stick to MS antispyware since it is free and is able to detect spyware?

well I just installed it and it found 5 things the others (CWShredder, spybot s&d, adaware, spywareblaster) didn't, so I feel very respectful:)

I uninstalled mine, as well as another on another clients PC, it would not up-date and I was having boot problems, other than that it was pretty useless, I think I'll just wait till it gets into the final stages and then retry it. IF you've tried all the above progs, give this free online scan a shot. You'll be amazed at what it finds (also at no charge)
