lHas anyone receive this pop up from Messenger Service? It says:
Message from Advertiser to ...

messenger pop up windows like this represent the newest method advertisers are abusing to get their message out.....

sort of like promoting this particular website.

Can anyone tell me what this is and how can I get rid of it? Is it due to the fact that I installed Adaware 6 just to get rid of some registry keys and then uninstalled it?
I hear some people say that Adaware is a piece of crapware.

Here's one way that should get rid of it;

Right-click on "My Computer",select "Manage",expand or double-click the "Services and Applications",then click on "Services".In the right-hand pane,right-click the "Messenger" entry,select "Properties".In the window that pops up,change the Startup Type to "Disabled" from the drop-down menu,and change Service Status to "Stopped".

Make sure you stop the service first before you disable it. Here is a link with screen shots.
