Hmmm, you sure know how to keep us in suspense! What is the message?

Why do you think it wrote to S.ini instead of to the Windows Registry? Are you getting a s.ini error on boot?

I assume (ass, u, me) that the program was freeware or something close. Possibly containing spyware. Or a virus, etc.

Here is freeware you can trust, and which I use on every machine I work with: Ad-aware by lavasoft http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ Unless I have guessed wrong (you give so much to work with) you need to download it, install it, and run it.

dibeng.drv=dibeng.dll
causes a lot of conflict on win9x systems .. have a look at www.google.com
i think in relation to your program install, your registry needs a good cleaning as well as junk files on pc.
get REGCLEANER and SPACE ODYSSEY and your system will run faster .. :) trust me i have Millennium .. been using those on it for ages now, works gr8.
