Basically it goes like this. My cousin was using his laptop to surf the web and Mcafee brought up the autoupdate announcement. He let the updates download and then restarted his laptop. After this he could no longer broswe the web. Phoning me I went around and through a slow but simple test I found it was the Privacy Service thing to do with the whole Mcafee suite.

I went and broswed the settings but found nothing saying that websites were blocked and that all traffic was allowed. Stuumped I told him to just disable this for now as it was not needed explicitly by him (he uses AOL browser so popups are blocked in there if I remember correctly). But I would like to get this sorted out so he doesn't have to mess around. I looked around Mcafee's site no help, and I don't use Mcafee so can anyone help shed some light onto this matter.

It only began this after he downloaded some updates for the Mcafee suite. I wasn't there at the time so I don't know what they were.

1st of all try a system restore to before the McAfee update and see if that clears up the problem.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
