Hi. I just talked to my friend and he was having this dillema. He said that he bought Mcafee internet security and installed it on his computer. But then, the internet wouldn't work, so he uninstalled it. But now, the internet still doesn't work and now whenever you try to run a browser (or access a floppy or something i think) it says cannot find sworder.dll, which is a very important dll from what i understand. He cant dl it or anything thanks to the no internet. Thats all he told me.
I told him to try to reset his router with a paperclip, but that didn't work, and i told him to try a system restore which he is doing right now. If the system restore doesn't work, do you guys have any idea on what to do ? Thanks a bunch

Had very similar issues, but it was removing a POS spyware program that removed sproder and another .dll file CRITICAL to my wireless network (could not pull a dchp address becasue this POS spyware, even when removed by the add/remove programs, messes up your world. The spyware is called Webhancer and I would like to smack the S - _ _ out of the who distributes this. SOLUTION - Search your machine for the .dll and it should show up, its just in the wrong spot. Copy it to c:\windows and C:\windows\system32 and all will be well. after doing this though, another missing .dll might show up, do the same for it. Hope its not to late to help, I did a restore and it did not fix, lost a bunch of sleep - b---tards.

Hi,
I had a similar problem when trying to install McAfee. I uninstalled McAfee and used System restore to get my pc back in order. I'm pretty PC illiterate and would like to try the solution you outlined in your post of June 23, but haven't a clue where to begin looking for the dll file.

I'm considering taking the pc back to MDG and having them install McAfee for me, but that will cost me anywhere from $75 to $150.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Oh and we share the same opinion on some of the "helpful" systems out there.

Joni
