Lately, I've been bombarded witha lot of emails with mydoom and netsky viruses. Mcafee does not detect them, even though I have the latest definitions, but my neighbors Norton does. I had an online chat with a Macafee rep but all they wanted me to do was scan my system, when I knew I didn't have a virus because I could recognize the bad emails and deleted them.I wanted to know why their programm was not detecting these viri, but they kept changing the subject. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not I, Norton here. Several people have thrown the virus at me but Norton deletes the attachment before i get to see it.

I've noticed that Mcafee detects them as different names for the same virus.

But then again, what one person calls fred another calls fredrika

Maybe thats why they're not detecting. Either that or mcafee is not setup to scan emails

- I changed from mcafee because it kept randomly disabling the scanning of email therefore removing half the point of it being on there.

Thanks for the input. I'll check the email scan. Maybe it has been not checking emails.
