|@rsavage, while it is true that most applications that were designed for 32 bit operating systems will install on 64 bit OSes, in the case of antimalware solutions, this is completely false. Especially with these high brand-name companies (think Kaspersky or Norton), which use kernel patching to get the job done, will only install their 32 bit application onto 32 bit systems. If you try to install one on a 64 bit (which you shouldn't) it has to fail, because you can't patch the kernel in 64 bit windows. You need the 64 bit version of the installer to do that.|
