Subject: May I post an HJT log?OS: Win98CPU/Ram: P4/128mb |
Comment: ...just posted an HJT log a half-hour ago from my nephew's computer, some of it I can figure out the rest of it I need help with. Oddly, it's the first time I ever got a pop-up windows warning me my post may be removed for posting it without someone asking me for it first. VOILA! It was removed! Would someone, I think the pop-up asked for an expert to ask for it, ask to to post it so I can get some help with it? Thank you.

Reply: Karl, I removed your post and since you have been very genuine in your plea for help I will ask you a few questions first. Have you run Spybot and Ad-Aware as well as Cwshredder on the system? We need a lot of information as to what has been done/tried. If you have taken these steps go ahead and post a log file in a new post. KTTD No, I will not fix your computer

Reply: Thanks, Kevin. Here's the log. I've done some work on it already after getting a hand with it at another forum. I appreciate ANY input as I am eager to learn this software and lend a hand here. ----------- Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 11:00:08 AM, on 3/12/2004 Platform: Windows 98 SE (Win9x 4.10.2222A) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KERNEL32.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSGSRV32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MPREXE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mmtask.tsk C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC SHARED\CCEVTMGR.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\NORTON ANTIVIRUS\ADVTOOLS\NPROTECT.EXE C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SYSTRAY.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\STIMON.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT HARDWARE\GAMING DEVICES\DAEMON32.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC SHARED\CCAPP.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\ONTRACK\SYSTEMSUITE\MXTASK.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WMIEXE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DDHELP.EXE C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\HJT\HIJACKTHIS.EXE R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://broadband.zoomtown.com/ R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = http://www.zoomtown.com/ O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\YAHOO!\COMPANION\INSTALLS\CPN\YCOMP5_2_3_0.DLL O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MSDXM.OCX O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {57720E20-1D3E-11D8-A7D9-00E07DAA64C6} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: Yahoo! Reply: You can submit SYSUPD.EXE to Lavasoft, so they can include it in the next update. That way, you will be helping more people than you will ever know. http://www.lavahelp.com/submit/
