Comment: I'm having some trouble with trojans. What kind of good free malware scanner do all you recommend? I have heard that trojans and worms are increasing in the recent years. Is that true? What does an average computer user need to do to protect themseleves besides a malware scanner if anything? The problem, I'm having is there is this W32/CWS:Reg.sys which happens under the windows trojan part of the quick memory scan. Just in case you need to know which quick memory scan, I'm talking about...it was from avdisk.org....avdisk version 9.1 My question about that, what do I need to do, to remove that? I have searched the Internet like tons and found nothing that will detect that trojan. I want to know what to do. Thanks!

Reply: What is this W32/CWS:Reg.sys Trojan anyway does anyone have any information about it, or where I could find the information? What could fix this W32/CWS:Reg.sys? Hmmm, I already had spybot s&d, and got adaware. I did many checks, had them all the way updated and such. Then even uninstalled them, rebooted, re-installed updated them again, ran the check again. Nothing as a result with fixing the W32/CWS:Reg.sys! That's what I want to know is how to remove the W32/CWS:Reg.sys Trojan unless you tell me how else it can be done with a program or something, help Please!

Reply: Okay, I have noticed that this avdisk software is under some beta like testing, well just to let you know. I don't think it works because I have used program after program and it didn't find that. So I think its a false alarm or else everything else I have tried don't work, it doesn't find a real trojan if such be the case.

Reply: Okay, I figured this problem out now...no need to worry...I got looking in the windows directory looking for recently modified files...I noticed the winsock.dll was replaced and some other stuff i guess. I replaced it with the proper files...everything is fine now... If you have the same problem, check your windows directory very carefully. That's how I fixed it.
