Comment: Hello, Can anyone tell me some information on the Malware known as "Edise." I recently downloaded the upgrade on Adaware and it found it on my computer. I was getting all sorts of porn popups and I think Adaware may have fixed the problem by removing the Edise objects. I did want to know if there is any other possible damage Edise might have done to my computer besides take over my web browser. Is there a link out there that might talk about this evil little parasite?

Reply: Hi there, I couldn't find it listed at SpywareInfo.com. Incidently guys, go to SpywareInfo.com and check out the weekly newsletter. What do you think of Dell's policy regarding spyware?

Reply: DELL. Legal CYA. They, like all other major vendors, include software packages supplied by vendors. They get them free from the vendor as long as they package them as-is with no modifications. These packages often contain Spyware like BackWeb and others. Dell would be breaking its contracts with software vendors if if allowed its staff to recommend removing such junk. Second, they become responsible for fixing any installed applications that break when the spyware in them is removed.
