I have Mal/generic-A virus in my computer. Now nothing works. Every time I try to open any program I either get open with box and/or I get blue screen and computer restarts. No progarm including antivirus, restore, registry is working and that problem is also in the safe mode!
I also have W32/hostInf-A virus
What to do? Is formatting the hardware the only solution?

hi,
download to your desktop
http://www.suspectfile.com/systemscan
open it and make sure that all options are checked, click on "Scan Now" at the end of the scan will be released (always on your desktop inside the folder suspectfile) two files.
Go to office http://www.megaupload.com/ the zip file and write in your next reply URL where I can get it.Remember the scan with no connection with the antivirus disabled unless then resume scanning finished.
NB
the duration of the scan may be long, it might even seem that the program is not working, do not worry is not so;)SystemScan is recognized, mistake, by some antivirus as infected.
--Ciao,
Marco--

Internet explorer also does not work. So, I downloaded in another computer and copied the download file in infected computer. But in the infected computer when I click to open the file `open with' box appears.
No program works in the computer except Microsoft office.
Also, computer refuses to shut down and when I shut down it restarts again.
I cannot access any folders inside the control panel.
When I use the USB stick used in that computer to another computer then the stick shows to have Mal/generic-A and W32/hostinfo-A

For the problem "open with" I think to a fault autorun.inf in C: \ or %SysDir%
Restart the computer in Safe Mode and try running SystemScanTo access the safe mode:
start, or restart, Windows.
When the bar in black and white Starting Windows at the bottom of the screen, press F8.select "Safe Mode".
If so you can not, we will use the Kaspersky reskue disk
Important!
Do not go to safe mode using msconfig > SafeBootCiao

Make sure that is set to boot from CD, then follow this guide for use, is in Italian but it is easy to understand.
Run a scan.
Let me know if you need helpGuide:
