Specs: Windows XP
I've picked up this spoof security alert that comes under the name 'XP Home Security - Unregistered Version'. It keeps bringing up warnings such as 'Privacy Threat', 'Critical System Alert' and so on. How do I get rid of it? I use Avira and Spybots. Thanks, John H

If you hav'nt done so already, hit the OFF button & then reboot.

If you did'nt do that immediately & you are infected, here is how to remove.

John, XP Home Security is a tricky virus. It can change its name to Vista Home Security and Windows 7 Home Security. Your operating system should be Windows XP. To completely remove XP Home Security, you can manually remove certain parts of the virus listed on this web site: and then use your Avira and Spybots to scan your PC again.
