Reply: Is Mcafee's firewall easy to uninstall separately from the antivirus program? Some firewall/antivirus packages can be very difficult to install/uninstall separately. Did you have Zone Alarm before you purchased the Mcafee product? There are many factors to consider. I would recommend you try the package first to see if you like using it. I would use the security scans at the Gibson Research(Leak Test/Nanoprobe) and PC Flank websites to test how secure and if the Mcafee firewall is set up properly. This will also give you an idea of how easy and effectively you can configure and use the firewall.

Reply: I'm using McAfee Firewall and it works very nicely thank you. It passes all the tests that Gibson Research and PcFlank can throw at it, and PcFlank rated it as passing all their tests. I found it used less resources than any other firewall I tried. Checking it at this moment, it's using 0.25% of CPU, rising to 1.2% when checking incoming packets . However, ZoneAlarm is free so you have little to lose in trying it. It can be difficult to uninstall, though, if you don't like it. Bryan
