Reply: AFAIK MAC addresses are unique to individual network adapters (ok ok, so you can change it on some). Basically, it's more or less a hardware thing, if you are storing a backup in case the machine gets mashed and then restore, it will be the same hardware, and therefore the same MAC address. If you're going to put the backup image on OTHER hardware, the MAC address will be different and you are doing to have to take account of that if you are using MAC filtering or such.
