Hello to all,
I had an issue with the pc, and when I shut it down, it got worse. Now, it won't even run windows. Before it gets to it, I get a message saying that there has been an lsass.exe error, something about a password. Anyhow, I have done some research online, and the most I found was that it was a Sasser worm, and to run the Stinger, or other Sasser remover tools. Unfortunately, I can't, because I can't open windows. The pc will reboot a few seconds after the error message comes out, without giving me the chance to disable the shutdown (under cmd, shutdown -a), because it doesn't even get to windows desktop. I tried to repair the pc using the original installation disk, and it tells me there isn't anything wrong with the pc. I figured, if I can access the MS DOS, I could go ahead and run Stinger, but it tells me that it is not made to run in DOS... so I can't fix it because I need windows, and I can't open it...
try booting in safe mode(f8). and running adaware and anti virus, check msconfig unknown processes, try also system retore (if running) prior to date of error,...:)
Sorry, I guess I forgot to mention that I cannot get to Safe Mode either. I get to the menu for Safe Mode, but then when I click on Safe Mode, before the screen shows up I get the exact same error, and the pc reboots.
