i am working on a laptop that is totally infected with ist, kaaza, browser hijackers. it has lost it's cd drive, doesn't recognize it at all. the device manager page is blank. it won't go on the internet. i can't load a cd. adaware is already on there, and i can run it, even in safe mode, delete everything, (424 objects) but they all come back. there is no floppy drive. so i can't download anything to fix it from the internet, can't use cd drive.it had macafee, but it says it is partially uninstalled, so i can't even run a virus scan. please help. thanks, maria

It should have worked in safe mode.

You could try pressing Control-Alt-Delete and close every program except explorer. Then try running all you cleaner programs. Although it would be better if Spybot Search & Destroy was also in your armourary. You can find a link to this at the top of this forum.
