Hi,

During a recent network logon, I noticed my computer hung a long time on the 'Applying personal settings' dialog. During this time the hard drive and network lights were active. When I pulled the network plug, the disk activity stopped almost immediately and the Windows desktop appeared. When I checked the network connection status, several hundred mb had been sent somewhere.

How would I find out what is going on? I have wireshark/dumpcap but am unsure of how to fire it in time to capture the packets.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards
Stof

Is this a home computer, or one at work?

Hi,

Work computer. I have spoken to the Network Admin and looked at the login script. So far we cannot find anything. But we are a small company and dont have advanced IT skills.
