question:

what is the consensus of how to completely lock down an XP pro machine so public users can ONLY access IE. I have four machines to configure and deliver soon that need to be essentially bomb-proof kiosk machines for students' use.

I know to do the -k in the prop's of IE to limit use of IE that way, but not how to lock down the machine if/when they alt+F4 out or anything else.

I am shooting for the most simple solution here as I am not a programmer wanting to write a bunch of complex scripts or something.

thanks!
Chuck

Montana State University is not a location that particularly likes to spend any money if it is possible to avoid it on IT related needs.

so I would sure like to hear of a way to secure the desktop without third-party software. but Xp I do appreciate your post regardless of expenses issue here at MSU.

thanks,
Chuck

If you had stated in your original post that it's for Montana State University, I would have given you this page. I believe it's free for University uses. This link will take you to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
