After removing the Peper trojan yesterday, along with numerous parasites, I went to a security testing website and implemented various web-browser security enhancements, (within IE). I am now locked-out of IE's Tools/InternetOptions with the Security and Privacy settings. I get a Restrictions message that states operations cancelled due to restrictions, contact administrator. This is a stand-alone home pc, and I am the only administrator. I'd be most grateful if you can help me with this problem. I am running IE 6.0.
Thanks in advance,
Echoe

Easy to figure out with your own post,
got confusing helping others in the same
post.

You still need to get rid of the fake
SpyBot.

Remove these two lines in hijackthis.
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

or uncheck:
lock IE start page...
lock IE control panel...
within SpyBot, the real one.

Ab, thanks so much, and so sorry about the other post. Ran Hijackthis and deleted the two files, now have access. Tried to delete/uninstall the fakes, obviously didn't, but they are now. Thanks once again for your superb assistance!

Your welcome Echoe,
I put my problem on hold, not able to
install critical updates, because other
people have more problems then myself.

Take care because we care.
