Comment: Hi Reading this makes me glad and confused. I have been fighting spyware and adware for a while now and you guys seem to know what you are talking about. I don't all the time. I have a feeling I've got most of the SpyWare that exists. I tried Bazooka and it identified some spyware - but trying to delete them was worse. The deeper you dig the more confused you get. Can someone please help me get rid of it. The biggest problem beeing the popups that is extreamly teadious to work along and they do contain material that is way off for my kids who are using the same computor. Since I read most of the above, I downloaded HijackThis and here is the log Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 9:07:37 AM, on 12/2/2003 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee VirusScan\Avsynmgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cisvc.exe C:\Program Files\Executive Software\DiskeeperLite\DKService.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\wanmpsvc.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee VirusScan\VsStat.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Firewall\CPD.EXE C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee VirusScan\Avconsol.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Firewall\CPD.EXE C:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH\MUSICMATCH Jukebox\mm_tray.exe C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 5\DirectCD\DirectCD.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Dell\EUSW\Support.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee VirusScan\VsStat.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\hpztsb06.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Shared Components\Guardian\CMGrdian.exe C:\Program Files\Media\Media\UpdateStats.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\uptodate.exe C:\Program Files\Stop-the-Pop-Up Demo\stopthepop.exe C:\WINDOWS\BCMSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\QuickClean\PlgUni.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee Shared Components\Instant Updater\RuLaunch.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Support\Alert\bin\NotifyAlert.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\LsxI52.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Gunnar\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe R1 - Reply: Hi Dotten, you have the peper trojan, Ad-Aware calls it Rads01. Please follow these steps, in exactly that order: Run this uninstaller: http://home01.wxs.nl/~kleyn080/uninst.exe When done, use the following tool to delete the files themselves: Download Drpepertobackup.exe, save to disk, and doubleclick the file; it will self extract to c:\. Find the "C:\drpeper\Find backup and Delete Peper files.vbs" file and double click it. http://www.mjc1.com/files/mo/drpepertobackup.exe On the first prompt, copy and paste:Dcz76.exe .... and hit ok.
On the second, paste: Nen8N.exe and hit ok again. It will find all the files, delete them and will make backups in the same folder. It'll open a text file (Peper.txt) with the list of all files deleted.
After your done, post a new log and we will try to remove the leftovers.

Reply: Hi Ok - done ! I had to go under view and change what was to shown i the windows though. Otherwise none of them showed up. I've restarted and nothing strange seems to have happened except that the computer seems to be a bit slower. Bazooka still detects "Ebates Moe Money Maker", BrowserAid, ISTbar and BrowserAid.Rundll. One of the toolbars in Explorer is gone which is a good thing since it belonged to one of the SpyWare things (ISTbar I believe). So - I don't know if the HighjackThis log is supposed to look any different, but I'm posting the latest anyway. Reply: I did SpyBot and it found lots of files. I let it take care of the lot and everything seems to be working pretty good. I don't know if there is anything more I can do. Bazooka still detscts BrowserAid, Browseraid.Rundll, and ISTbar - but I can't find anything that says that they actually do anything right now. Anyhow, I post my latest HighjackThis log. If you find anything please let me know. Thank you for excellent support. I will share this site with my friends.
