Does anyone have any experience with Linksys
Routers that make a "buzzing" sound when ON?
A new one I had, at first plug in, made a very loud "buzzing" all the time, so I returned it for another new one and it at first was quiet, then 2 weeks later it started making a soft "buzzing" sound all the time.
Just seems like something is wrong, even after trying in on different outlets, with and without a surge protector and with and without APC BackUp power supply.
Any Ideas?

Yes I purchased a linksys BEFW11S4 ver 2 router the other day and hooked it up to

my main computer. I then also hooked up a wireless pci card on my other

computer. Now on the main comp i can hook up to won servers and play online, yet

on the other one it can not locate any servers whatsoever, so I can not play at

all. The reason for purchasing this was of course for fast speed on second comp,

but also so my son and I can get online at the same time with awesome speeds.

Now this isnt working at all. Internet works great on wireless side as well as

main, but still no hl working. I have configured in the forwording ports in

setup for router to allow servers to pass firewall. These ports i entered are

27000-27050,7002-7002,6003-6003,5050-5050. Still it does not connect. Also

disabled DMZ and still doesnt connect. The main comp I have stated for it to

assign dhcp automatically, while other has a static ip. I have changed this

around also to see if that would work and still nothing. Current config is main

computer is ip assigned, second comp is static ip. Am at a huge loss here to

understand why this is happening. Linksys tech support knows nothing on to why

this is the case. As i said, the network runs awesome, no probs connecting to

internet on either comp. Yet hl does not dind servers therefore does not work on

second computer. If you can help me in anyway i would appreciate it

tremendously. And just for verification, what computer gets the static ip

Thank you for your time,

Dan
