Comment:
some hyperlinks from web pages are not loading and popups are appearing as blank windows. Everything was OK the last time I used the system. This started happening after I ran an update of AdAware SE and SpywareBlaster but it nust be coincidence. Some thing has changed but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I ran a snapshot restore in spywareblaster and it reported nothing has been changed. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you by chance turn off any of the scripting options in IE or, if you are using it, Firefox? That would be the first place I'd check.

Found the solution at microsoft's website. Downloaded mcrepair.exe and it replaced a corrupted file or two. The problem didn't change when I chose to keep files it identified as newer but when I had it overwrite them everything works OK now. I think the file oleaut32.dll somehow got corrupted. Thanks for your replies.
