I have been using Limewire for the past year or so and I have recently found out that Limeire is filled with Spyware and Adware. I'm a frequent downloader of music, but I am also protective over my computer's health.
My question is, which one is safer to use?

Thanks for any comments

Micah

I do not understand your question, as the official version of Limewire has no spyware. Did you download a bogus version? Any P2P program has hazards in using them. Lots a nasty things are packaged with the downloads, so you have to be careful and scan everything. If you are into downloading videos, those downloads a full of licenses that have tons of spyware. Then there is the sharing of your computer files, that requires some knowledge to set things up to be safe..

The difference are.
Limewire ( purchased ) No nag screens to buy.
Limewire ( free ) Nag screen to buy.
Frostwire ( free ) No nag screen, must uninstall Limewire free, before installing.

I don't download videos only music, but I've been doing research on Frostwire. Websites claim that unlike Limewire, Frostwire is free of spyware, adware and viruses. I'm just curious to know, which one is safer to use and better.

"only music"
How do you know that's all you are getting, anybody with a nasty mind can pack whatever they like into that download, like capt say's, scan everything.

"Frostwire is free of spyware, adware and viruses"
That say's it all, I use Frostwire.

Basics of any install, run your virii, trojan, spyfile programs after the install, if you find problems, remove the problems & if the new program is happy, keep it, if not, find another program.

Thanks for all the comments. It looks like after a year of using Limewire it is time to drop it. :-)
