We are into the last few days of support for this great scanner , I'm bummed thing worked great , it was fast and didn't take up all your resources unlike some other famous AV programs , so if you are running this time to locate a new like AVG . Anyone using AVG and is it a good AV program and do they keep up with the latest viruses ? Inoculate used to have daily updates for their AV program . Right now I'm leaning toward AVG , anyone got any opinions , good or bad about this ?

Avg is a decent program.
They update on a weekly basis.
But if s big viurs hit, then they update ASAP.

I was an Inoculate It PE user too. I switched to AVG when Inoculate announced its ending, however I do like AVG. For the updates to be automatic, you have to schedule them at a certain time, but if you are not online at that time, then you have to do it manually. Their scheduling clock only has am, no pm (unless it changed since the last time I looked). Other than than, I like it really well.

Same here, From PE to AVG and I like it just as much if not more. I do the update manualy so the scheduler is no problem. I like it. Good luck with the one you choose.

If you are a former user of Inoculate IT, you can get eTrust & a year of updates for $10.

It looks EXACTLY like Inoculate IT.

Yessery bob on the eTrust program, looks just like inoculate nad runs just a bit better methinks, Ive had it since it came out last june and it's Really worth it.
I have NEVER had to cleanout some of the messes that other more costly brands sometimes leave. It just lets you know that it's gtot rid of another nasty piece of junk, and settles into low profile background.Ready when needed. It usually catches things at the transfer packet stage and doesn't let them be reconstrucked to working code.
PS it will install to a new directoy but pickup your olf dettigs from IPE

ALso used Inoculate and AVG, but then switched to H+BEDV (i.e., AVP). Very good program that is regularly updated; but instead of small updates, the updates require a download of the whole program each time (about 3.8 MB on average). This, of course, is likely only a problem if you're surfing with a 56K or slower.

It's a very good freeware (for personal use) anti-virus program. I think it stands for Anti-Virus Guard, but could be wrong. If you can't afford (or just don't want to pay) the $30 for Panda AV or a similar anti-virus program, both AVG or AVP are very good choices.

For AVG, go to: http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm

For AVP, go to: http://www.free-av.com/
