Reply: (edit)thanks. however, it reports that those files are infected, copies them, says it will clean them upon restart, but they persist. so, the problem still exists.

Reply: (edit)Try an on-line virus scanner. If you have got klez then it has definitely disabled your AV program. Installing another AV program will only be disabled also. One on-line virus scanner is Trendmicro.com. They also have instructions on removing the Klez virus. Good Luck! Underdog V-Peace-V

Reply: (edit)Hello, These files are already open in Windows mode. So restart your computer in SAFE mode and try again. I will recommend you try this tool CleanKLZ.exe. But you should start your system in SAFE mode first. You can get it from http://srnmicro.com/downloads/CleanKLZ.exe
