Keystrokes Messed Up

February 20, 2009 at 17:49:46
Specs: Windows XP

Are there any new viruses that interrupt keystrokes?
Typing emails and all day many strokes are not registering. Also when Google searching I will start to type in the search box and suddenly my strokes are erased. If aware of virus, is there a quick solution?

I am on a laptop and this behavior is sudden. It is not just one key but random keystrokes that don't record. Also when typing in Google Search area it will suddenly delete everything I typed. I am also seeing intermittent blinking on my screen, a little image pops up in the bottom tool bar very briefly.

you can try disinfecting your laptop using:
Ccleaner slim
Malwarebytes
and then
Avast Free....let it do a bootscan on reboot.
That should clean out the laptop IF that is the problem.

But it sounds to me like its the keyboard has gone bad, I've seen the same symptoms when someone accidently spills a liquid on the keyboard.
