I hope one of the brains here, and I know there are many, can help with a question.
I downloaded "anti-key logger" that I read about here. I ran it and it found these 2 items..c:\windows\intern~1\iamdb.rdb, and
c:\windows\intern~1\hppav.ldb...so I rebooted my computer and ran it again and this time neither of these were listed. This was a couple of days ago. I ran it again today and they both showed up again. So I rebooted again, and they did not show up..I think the one with hppav might have to do with my norton anti virus, can any one give me their advise on what these two could be or where I might look on my computer where these might be. Thanx in advance...I have become a loyal reader of this site and have recommended it all my friends..

A search of my PC showed I have iamdb.rdb (as a notepad file) and it's listed as being in Windows\internet logs. I don't know if it's supposed to be there, but there are also files in there listing the history of the stuff it's recording.
Rebooting may delete this history ????

I copied and pasted it to the desktop then opened it to see symbols and listings of the programs I have installed. The original file can't be opened 'cos it's in use.

I don't have the last file but I do have Norton AV 2002, as part of System Works 2002.

To find the first file look in MY COMPUTER - C: DRIVE - WINDOWS - INTERNET LOGS.

You can also get your PC to search for files (that's what I did to know to look in the Windows directory).
START - SEARCH - FOR FILES OR FOLDERS and type the name (or part of the name)of the item you are looking for in the top box, then click SEARCH NOW. On the files that are found, left click them once (to highlight them) and at the top of the screen you will see the directory or folder it's listed in.
You can find all the files on your PC this way...
Where did you get the anti-key logger program from ?
I would like to try it.

hi marinersfan,
i take it you are using zone alarm as your firewall. your internet log file is a zone alarm file that notes all the intrusions that zone alarm stops. and as usual its a zone alarm problem or bug in z.a.3.0 caused when upgrading or installing.
There is a bug in ZoneAlarm that will cause its database to become corrupt. When this happens ZoneAlarm will stop logging information about new intrusions to its log file. This usually happens after you install ZoneAlarm 3 or upgrade to a new release, but it can also happen after you restart your computer also. you should uninstall ZoneAlarm, delete all files in the Internet Logs folder and reinstall Zone Alarm. Here is how to solve the problem:

Shut down ZoneAlarm
Open the folder C:\Windows\Internet Logs, if you are running windows 95, 98,
(or C:\WinNT\Internet Logs if you're running Windows NT or 2000).
Delete the file IAMDB.RDB
If the file BACKUP.RDB exists delete that file as well
Restart your computer
Start ZoneAlarm (the file IAMDB.RDB will automatically be recreated)

as for the other file hppav.ldb, i could find no reference to it anywhere maybe it is spelled incorrectly.
all the best,
murve
