Kaspersky main window no longer displaying

July 29, 2011 at 23:59:27
Specs: Windows XP
Kaspersky starts and is running. Icon displays on Taskbar at bottom of window (Microsoft Windows XP is my operating system).

I can right click to get menu with options to display various screens or run various functions.

Highlight "Kaspersky Internet Security" and click which is supposed to bring up the Main Screen for Kaspersky and the Main Program Window Screen only appears as a minimised icon on the Task Bar. The option to restore or maximise the Window is not active on the icon you can only close it.

Tried running the repair program Kaspersky provides a few times but the problem has not been correct and I have the latest Kaspersky Update on my computer.

I can run scans and see the reports from the scan screens and I can access the Setting Window but not the Main Window.

I really don't want to re-install it and download all the updates all over again.

Try uninstalling Kaspersky, and choose the option of saving your settings when prompted, run CCleaner, just to do a bit of a tidy-up and then reinstall Kaspersky - updating shouldn't take too long.

I might as well buy a new version and install 2011 rather than play around with installing 2010 from scratch and updating.

I used to be in IT and so I keep my PC well maintained I don't have any problems that could be contributing to this.

I used to work for Kaspersky (2007-2010), I'm sure the free upgrade system is still in-place, so please don't purchase a new licence needlessly.

Have you tried using ProcMon to where the issue actually lays? There's nothing that says upgrading will eliminate the problem....
