About a week ago, I started getting popups. I ran adaware, spybot, hijackthis, and avg virus scan. They found some things and got rid of them, but the popus continued.

Today, I was surfing the net and started getting popups again. Something call PS Spyware remover (not exactly sure of the name but something similar to this) installed without my permission, and the background of my computer changed. I uninstalled this "spyware remover" and restarted my computer, but when i tried to change my background, the display tab is no longer there. The only tabs that remain are screen saver and settings.

This stuff is really making me mad, I wish they would make it illegal. Hopefully someone out there has some ideas to help me.

Thanks
Jonathan

MS Antispyware is your best bet. I keep plugging it, but it's never failed in my experience. It also has a nice "Restore Browser Settings" feature for all browser hijacks.

it's also a good idea to run these scans in safe mode

Aside from this help, update your windows. You probably got this nasty because your browser or os were not up to date. Updates help prevent exploits.
