okay i was running spybot search&destroy and it came up saying that WildTangent was spyware. and i remember seeing that in add/remove programs ever since i got my computer(even when i have had it for 10 minutes) is it bad or is it something that is helpful but programs detect it as spyware?

Lots of hits in Google. Seems relatively harmless, the main gripe being that it is loaded without bothering to ask your permission. It does get reported by some Anti-Spyware products, although there is some doubt about whether it actually spys on you.

It comes across as borderline, after all many CD installations add on all sorts of additional programs and updates to later versions (eg Acrobat Reader, QuickTime, DirectX, IE, Photo & Print programs, etc) without any means of stopping them doing so.

If you find it useful as a gaming package then I wouldn't worry too much. If you don't use/need it then you might as well let SpyBot take it out.
