Is this a virus?

Hi, I received two email supposedly from "Mail Delivery Service" and "Internet Mail Delivery", each with similar bodies. They both say that a message i sent was undeliverable because my email contained a virus. I am pretty sure my computer is clean, although theres always a possibility something slipped through my email scanner. They both also have an attachment "att00050.dat" and "att00039.dat" respectively. What tipped me off at first was that both listed an email address i am NOT familiar with for the recipient. Is this a virus/spyware? thanks a lot, Ed

It is not your system, it is a virus that is using spoofing, so delete them. This is a very common method to trap the unwary.

thanks, how can i be sure when the message has actually been returned, i.e. when i actually have a virus that is getting my messages blocked by other email servers thanks, ed

As far as I know, you will never get an email sent saying "undeliverable because you have a virus". If you have a virus, I'm sure one of your friends/ relatives will tell you, should you send an email their way and is detected on their end.
