I have heard lots of stories about it causing problems, but it works quite well on my Win98 machine. It is not a resource hog.The email scanner works well too.I got rid of all traces of the old version before I installed AVG7,contrary to what they say about installing over top.

Have seen no problems with it on a Win ME , an older 933 mhz machine . The drive scans seem to take somewhat longer for some reason , don't know if its doing a more thorough job or what . The updates are much faster usually only taking a couple of seconds on a dsl line .
So far no complaints .

The forum is full of lots of good info. You know, the one you registered your AVG with when you installed it.

I read the AVG free forum first, and appreciate what they are doing, but thought that I would ask over here, since there is no "connection" to AVG over here. Beisdes you folks are smarter.

I agree that installing V.7 over top of V.6 is a recipe for digital disaster. Uninstall 6 and delete every byte, first.
