is a virus on my other partitions?

Toshiba Satellite l305-s5955 notebook

Specs: Windows Vista
Ok, so I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and it was
recently infected by a virus because of my friend. The
toshiba has 3 partitions: a main partition, a backup
partition, and a toshiba partition. I reformatted the
main partition and installed windows 7 rc onto it.
Everything seems to run fine and I have no symptoms
of a virus (i can install anti-virus and all my programs regularly). Is the virus still in my other partitions and i
just can't notice it because I have a freshly installed
os or is it really gone?

try scanning the whole system...
the virus usually doesn`t infect much files on the other partitions...

makes sense... i scan everything and it all seems fine... but
sometimes my Kaspersky anti-virus freezes up on full scans
but i think this might just be because thats the way it is... i
havent found anything though does that mean i'm clean?

If you run your Kaspersky and it will finish with "nothing found" it is fine. (if you use the lastest virusupdate files on your virusscanner)

If you want to feel more sure you can always do extra free online scan by another company.
