Is 8ad.com a spy ware?

When I am on-line with a cable modem, every few minutes I have a tiny IE window with the title "8ad.com". I close it, but it reappears in a few minutes. It seems to be spy ware or something like that. How do I prevent it from coming up. Thanks for the help.
Go to 8ad.com's web site and at the bottom they have an uninstaller. You can also get Spybot or Ad-Aware which should remove it as well.

I don't know if it's spyware, but I got nailed with the same thing some how. After going to their (8ad's) homepage and trying their uninstaller (piece of crap) I still had the stupid popups.
here is what I finally did to completely disable it.
Find the following file which imbeds itself in your startup: MSupdater.exe Delete Reboot Find folders Winlink and Winshow Delete Reboot
