internet is popping up with a lot of ads

January 25, 2014 at 22:18:11
Specs: Windows 7, intel core i3/ 6GB
My laptop has something on it that is causing a lot of ads to pop up on the Internet and I don't know what it is. I think I might have accidentally downloaded it and I believe I know which program it is. I uninstalled it through the uninstall programs from control panel and rebooted my laptop. It seemed to go away but the problem is still here and I noticed it came back to the uninstall programs. The rest of my laptop doesn't seem to have any problems. Just the Internet seems to be affected

You can start by running something like malwarebytes:

(The green 'download latest version' link)

and see what it finds.

After running malwarebytes, Copy & Paste the contents of the log in your next reply please.

Next, run both of these.

Ividi sounds like Ilivid, typical installware stuff, and Adpeak is what throws up your ads. Should be OK for now, assuming the ads are gone, and run the stuff that John recommends.
