Comment: Hi. First time poster. I think I have contracted a virus/trojan somehow and it is affecting IE v7. When I try to open a new tab, IE closes of its own accord. It really is a pain! Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Have you tried running a Repair of IE? Do you have any other symptoms that may indicate a browser hack, etc? remember, IE 7 is still in Beta, so there are no guarantees that it will work. :) Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Reply: (edit)Thanks for that. My suspicions have been aroused by noticing ISMON.exe and Update.exe in my Task Manager all of a sudden. Even managing to stop Update.exe it doesn't prevent opening a new tab from closing IE. Hmmm ... ?
