Internet disconnecting

Specs: Windows XP

I have a 100mbit broadband connection, which I share with 1 more computer through a router (not wireless).
The past 2 days there have been a problem with my Internet getting disconnected quite often. Actually it doesn't really disconnect but just "freezes" which makes all sites currently loading to stop, and freezes/kicks me from an online game that I play. I called my ISP and they said they couldn't find the problem on their side. I'm kinda worried that I might be getting " pinged" (it is common in the game I play that people send lots of packages to a comp in order to crash the connection by using the IP , not really sure how it works). I have a static IP so I can't change it. Do you think that might be the problem and is there any solution to it?

I scanned my computer with Avast and it didn't find anything. Besides the comp my mom uses which is on the same net, connected via the router has the same problems.
