I reformatted my Gateway computer because it had many viruses on it. It has the XP home edition on it before, but when I reformatted, I used xp pro. The installation process worked all the way through, but now I don't have internet connection. This is a desktop computer and it is not wireless. PLease help.

How exactly is it connected?
Are you using a router to connect to the internet?
Open CMD by Start / Run / CMD and type ipconfig /all
Post the result.

check in your device manager for any conflicts and then
download some drivers on another PC and put them on a
thumbdrive or a disc to load onto the problem PC.Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Another thing, when I installed the xp for Gateway, I only had one disk..... I didnt have two discs like my Dell computer has to install both Operating Systems disk and the Drivers and utilities disk...
I only have the Operating Systems disk for the Gateway.. not sure if I lost the other one or it just came with one...
Hope that helps..

Go to the gateway website and download the proper drivers for those items you listed
