Hello, I want to install a trial version of Panda Platinum 2005 on my computer, but just prior it says:

To continue with installation you must uninstall the following program you have on your computer:

eTrust EZ Antivirus

You may find this in Add/Remove programs etc etc

However, I cannot find it! I am pretty sure I installed it some time ago - but I thought I uninstalled it. I definietly can't find it anywhere, either I am blind, or it is detecting a remaining file perhaps in the registry or something?

Any help would be great because I would like to install this but have to uninstall what I can't find first!

Thank you!

PS If anyone knows of any better internet security programs (free or lengthy trial) I would love to know!

if there are some remnants of it left in the registry, then you could try something like CCleaner to remove the obsolete entries. I personally use Registry Mechanic which I bought but other programs should do the job.

Intel Pentium 4, 1.8 GHz
1.0 Gb of RAM, WinXP proSP2
Gigabyte mobo, 350 W PSU
Radeon 9600
Sound Blaster Live 5.1

Personally I'm not into security suites. You can get a six month trial of F-Secure antivirus at the Microsoft three steps to internet security site. Kaspersky and NOD32 both offer 1 month trials. Here is a link for four months of Panda for a free trial

If you are an IT professional of company adminstrator you can get Panda for free here;

Sorry forgot to tell you how to remove ETrust from you registry. Look for Computer Associates entries, and delete them>
Use start, run, regedit, HKEY_USER > programs, then look in HKEY_Local > programs.
