Comment:
My brother's PC has had some problems with a virus. It's still on SP1, without critical updates, lacked any spyware protection. Norton Antivirus 2005 picks up the virus with the error:

File: ou3viewer.dll
Virus: Infostealer
Access to file denied

When I try to click OK, it will produce exactly the same error. And so on. The PC is unable to connect to the internet any more.

It is unmanageably slow running on startup when QuickTime loads in the system tray, so I shut down that application. Any advice? Should I post a HijackThis log?

If you go the Symantic website and search for this virus, it should provide instructions on how to remove the virus. Also since the infected computer can't get online, then you may want to print out the steps. This should make it easier for you to clean the computer :o)

Bless
