Hi Y'all,

Techno-challenged senior citizen here again.

I try to avoid computer security lapses with my personal information and documents by doing the following:

Run ZoneAlarm free, SpywareBlaster, Spybot, and AdAware.

Don't save to my C drive any sensitive files.

Use an external USB to store *.xls files and run an old windows program circa 1993 "Managing Your Money for Windows" from the external drive and save the data on that drive.

Also put ZoneALarm function to "stop all internet activity" before I connect the external drive, and disconnect the drive before I unclik the internet lock on ZA.

Also use network connections to disable " local area connections" before I plug-in the external drive.

Should I also reboot or power-down the computer after I disconnect the external drive and before I re-enable internet access?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think you could teach some of our government agencies a thing or two.

And I don't believe rebooting is necessary unless you have trouble going back online.

Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.
