rncsys32.exe suddenly appeared in my startup list. A Kaspersly online scan identifies it as Trojan.Win32.Pakes.nlx but nobody on the internet seems to be discussing it. Anybody know what it is and how to get rid of it?

Download and run Kaspersky AVP tool: http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com...
Once you download and start the tool:

# Check below options:

    * Select all the objects/places to be scanned.
    * Settings > Customize > Heuristic analyzer > Enable deep rootkit search

# Click Scan
# Fix what it detects
# Attach Scan log/Summary to your next message.

Doing a Google search on the internet indicated that nobody seems to know about rncsys32. The only sites that mention it are Russian or Polish.

Just came up on my desk top today. It has disabled my ability to scan with Norton. Message reads scan failed to start. Norton indicates it has found a Trojan...trojan.initakeav but will not allow me to quarantine it or delete it. It will only log it and does this continually as the malware tries to either back itself up or reproduce....I'm not super computer literate. I'm attempting to run the microsoft malicious software removal tool. Please let me know if you find a good fix for getting this bug off your machine. I'll likewise do the same.

I found the rncsys32.exe in my autostart too. Interesting was, that my avira scanner found the file abcdefg.bat with the virus TR/Spy.Agent.NVX. This happend by opening a youtube like plattform in my browser. After that this trojan/virus was in my system.
But Avira can´t see the virus in system. I`m now trying with kaspersky.

Ok, i have trie to solve this problem with kaspersky. But, i have a lot of work to do, and as i have seen the scanning of the hard drive would take more hours, i aborted the scanning. I wanted to scan the hard disk in the night. With the next reboot i don´t get into my WinXP anymore. In the moment the "Welcome" appears, there is a system message like "50 seconds until reboot".
Ok, it is still possible to get into the secured mode. hmn

This weekend i´ll be working with ubuntu. argh
