Several "exe" files were infected by Swen.A and now "vaulted" by AVG 6.
Is the "vault" the final resting place for unrepairable files ?
Without software, can one retrieve these files and repair/replace w.o. reloading OS ?
If there is no easy fix, would someone be kind enough to walk me thru the process of saving needed applications, clearing the drive, and reloading the OS disc ?

Thanks in advance, "Newbie"

W32.Swen.A does not infect files..The files quarantined by AVG are the virus. You don't want to restore them...
Go here and download Exefix08.inf and RegFile.inf to your desktop. Then right click on each and choose install. It will enable you to run .exe's

Then download and run the Swen removal tool from here:
